On the 12th of April, Blaxcell Street Public School’s Captains (Aarohee Hirachan and Ayman Mustafa-Kamal) and Vice Captains (Ashvin Rajkumar and Alina Nguyen) went to the 14th Annual Dymocks Children’s Charities Great Debate event to fundraise for the amazing Book Bank Program which our school is fortunate to take part in. The Great Debate took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in the city. There we were treated with a delicious meal before going on stage to be interviewed by the renowned Adam Spencer, a comedian mathematician and former radio presenter. We spoke open-heartedly about how our involvement in the Book Bank initiative has entitled us to read more constantly and read a wider range of genres which we would have not read otherwise. We also conversed about how important this program is for us and our school for their many years. This event was a memorable experience for us and we would like to thank Ms. Najjarine for driving us to the Hotel and spending her own precious time and money making it such a special night!
