Cultural Exchange Day with Thornleigh West Public School.
On 15th November, 5T had an amazing day on cultural exchange with Thornleigh West Public School. As they were visiting us, we provided hospitality by sharing some food from the cultures represent at Blaxcell Street Public school.
It all started with a welcome to our school which was interrupted when Mr Westcott said he heard something at the back. That was when Mohammed started drumming Arabic Drums.
We played some icebreaker games and had delicious food. After lunch we played on the play equipment and we all played tips.
Later on, we went back inside and explained the next activity. This required us to be in groups of 4 with masking tape and newspapers. We then had to make some towers. We made the Harbour Bridge and others made taller towers. As there were to be two winners, it was funny that there was one group that was all boys and the other group was all girls. Each team won AFL footballs.
After clean-up we got ice-creams and said goodbye. Mohammad and some other boys in our class performed a thank you beat on drums and started singing "Thornleigh West is the Best". That was the end of a fantastic cultural day.
