Important Update - Friday 16 July

Learning from Home

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you and your families in the best of health. As you know, the NSW Premier has announced another extension to the Greater Sydney lockdown and that schools will be learning from home until at least Friday 30 July.

As always, our main priority will be ensuring the health and safety of all our students, staff and families. We will follow the guidelines established by the Department of Education based on the advice received from NSW Health. Further to that, I want to reinforce the NSW Premier’s recommendation that children are encouraged to stay home. Our teachers will be working remotely with minimal casual/support staff on site.

Our teachers have developed packages of learning that will support our students. The learning packs have been designed to consolidate teaching and learning that has occurred during Semester 1. The activities will reinforce and extend understanding of the curriculum that has been taught across the first two terms. These will be available online via our school website. The “Learning from Home” link is easily visible on our Home Page - https://blaxcellst-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/learning-from-home.html

From Monday 19 July, between 9:00am - 11:00am, we will have work collection areas for each grade outside the hall. Parents are able to collect the printed versions of the “Learning from Home” packages for their children to take home. Please note that the learning packages must be collected before 11:00am.

I respectfully ask that all parents follow the physical distancing advice, adhere to mask-wearing requirements and sign in using the Service NSW QR code when entering the school to collect the learning packages.

Due to the current situation, there will be minimal staff on-site. As such, there will be limited telephone access to the front office and restricted access to the school. Any urgent enquiries should be emailed to the school email via blaxcellst-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

To our families who celebrate - may you have a blessed Eid-al-Adha, albeit a very different one. Eid Mubarak for next Tuesday! To all our families, please keep safe and follow the advice around the stay at home orders. As always, I appreciate your on-going support as we work together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.

Kind regards,

Mr Hani Zahra

Principal
