Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Unfortunately, there have been numerous negative incidents involving students bringing “Beyblades” and “Pop-it toys” to school. Teachers are reporting that in most cases “Beyblades” and “Pop-it toys” are distracting students and this is beginning to have a negative impact on their learning.
Parents are advised that from Monday 29 March 2021, “Beyblades” and “Pop-it toys” will not be permitted at Blaxcell Street Public School. If students are found bringing these items onto school grounds the Code of Conduct will be applied and the item will be confiscated. Parents will be required to make an appointment with the teacher to arrange the collection of the “Beyblades” and/or “Pop-it toys” at the end of the following school day.
If your child has an Individual Education Plan whereby an exemption to this rule may be required, please liaise with the class teacher. I will require formal written advice from the parent as well as evidence from the treating medical officer for any exemption to be considered.
